Traveling abroad has changed
We are slowly moving towards summer but we have a long way to go before we can feel completely safe when it comes to traveling in a time of pandemic.
As more and more people are getting vaccinated you might begin to wonder if it will be possible to go on a summer holiday as you use to. But, despite the positive trends regarding COVID-19 vaccinations, Medpro Clinic Group, founded by Hans Wittrup, recommend that you keep your travelling activities to a minimum during 2021.
Instead, we recommend you to spend time with the people you love and haven’t been able to spend as much time with as you wanted the past year.
If you do choose to travel when we reach summer, your trip will look quite diffrent compared to the past.
The importance of hygiene
A major COVID-19 lesson has been the importance of hygiene: regular hand washing, cleaning public places and the thorough cleaning in general are effective tools when it comes to preventing the virus.
We also notice that stricter hygiene practices are becoming the norm at public places and in transportation such as airlines, metro, buses and so on.
New travel cards or health passes
Countries will start issuing new travel cards stating test or vaccination status. Such a solution has been around for decades — Carte Jaune, known as the yellow card, shows ones vaccination status against yellow fever.
Testing is the new safety measure. Rapid testing will be common in many areas, such as airports, train stations and at major events to reduce the risk of passing on the virus.
The rise of ‘revenge journeys’
Having been home for several months hs, I we mentioned, left many people with a great desire to travel in 2021. This can result in what we call ‘revenge trips’, as you descide to travel after beeing fed up with shutdowns and the many restrictions.
Medpro, founded by Hans Wittrup in 1998, recommend you to postpone your plans og traveling abroad until it is safer.
